At Time Out, we’re massive fans of all things Porto – and just to prove our love for the city, we’re opening our very own Time Out Market there this spring.

Scheduled to open its doors in May, it’s one of the city’s most anticipated projects for the year ahead. Time Out Market Porto will be located in the south wing of the famous São Bento Station, and will comprise 12 of the city’s most exciting restaurants, two bars and a panoramic tower.

And now, we can announce two more names have been added to the market’s cracking roster. The first is Ricardo Costa, holder of two Michelin stars at The Yeatman, a stunning restaurant in Vila Nova de Gaia with panoramic views of Porto. Rafaela Louzada, who opened Michelin-guide recommended and women-led Gruta two years ago, also joins the project.

The chefs will join an already very exciting line-up. Michelin-starred chefs Vasco Coelho and Rui Paula (who have one and two stars respectively), have already been announced, as has Fava Tonka, a vegetarian restaurant by Nuno Castro, and Casa Inês, a venue rustling up classic cuisine.

Meia-Nau will be bringing fresh fish and seafood from Matosinhos (a city just north of Porto), Okra will supply Neapolitan pizzas from a wood-fired oven, Tábua Rasa has got the cheese and sausage boards covered, Brusco Burger will be rustling up (you guessed it) burgers, and the historic Padaria Ribeira, founded in 1878, is getting involved, too.

The final three restaurants are yet to be announced, but there’s already plenty to look forward to. Two extra spaces are set to open in the tower, which will have unmatched views of the Clérigos Church.

Watch this space for more details on Time Out Market Porto, and in the meantime, have a look at our favourite clubs, beaches, and things to do in the city

Did you see that it’s now much, much easier to travel to these underrated European countries?

Plus: these are the European cities with the cheapest (and most expensive) pints
